Quarter Horse News

Quarter Horse News was formed as a weekly tabloid in December 1978. Today, the business publishes a twice-monthly, award-winning news magazine with more than 13,000 paid subscribers. It provides event coverage, sale statistics and other timely information for the performance horse industry.

In 1985, Quarter Horse News formed EQUI-STAT, its statistical division. EQUI-STAT was initially developed to research and compile results from aged cutting events for editorial use. However, they soon incorporated results from the National Cutting Horse Association and the American Cutting Horse Association weekend shows, along with non-association shows to form the largest and most comprehensive database in the cutting horse industry.

Today, EQUI-STAT maintains performance records for cutting, reining, reined cow horse, barrel racing, pleasure and halter horses and competitors.

Quarter Horse News is published by Cowboy Publishing Group, a division of Morris Communications Co.

Morris purchased Quarter Horse News in 1981.
