The Sylvania Telephone was established in 1879. The newspaper is published weekly on Thursday and serves the entire Screven County area.

Sylvania is located between Augusta, Ga., and Savannah, Ga., just off U.S. 301.

Morris Communications acquired the Sylvania Telephone in August 2006.
