11/11/98 - PUBLISHER ANNOUNCES PALM SPRINGS LAUNCH FOR TOURIST GUIDEBOOKS

AUGUSTA, Ga. - Beginning in December, more than 400,000 copies of Best Read Guide, a free vacation and tourist magazine, will be distributed annually in the Palm Springs area. The announcement was made today by Will Morris, president of Morris Communications Corp., owner of Best Read Guide Franchise Corp.

"Palm Springs is a natural market for Best Read Guide," said Morris. "It is a major business conference and family vacation destination, and Best Read Guide is targeted to these segments of the tourist industry."

Best Read Guide/Palm Springs will be linked to the company's Desert Radio Group, a six-station broadcasting operation managed by Bruce Johnson. Johnson has named Dick Gazi local manager of the Palm Springs guide. Gazi, a veteran of the newspaper industry, has worked for several papers, including The Desert Sun in Palm Springs and The Phoenix Gazette.

"We are looking forward to serving local visitors to our community and helping vacationing families enjoy their stay," said Gazi. "Our guides provide interesting, useful information that will make the Palm Springs area more enjoyable. They also give a convenient blueprint on what to see and do."

Best Read Guide is a comprehensive, easy-to-use visitor's publication that lists attractions and dining establishments, along with informative features that provide an "insider's" look at Palm Springs.

Best Read Guides are distributed in more than 20 markets across the nation, including Orlando, Las Vegas and Branson, Mo.
