CINDY
ALLEN TO BE PUBLISHER OF THE MORNING SUN
Augusta,
Ga. - Cindy Allen today assumed the position of publisher
of The Morning Sun, Pittsburg, Kan. The announcement
was made by William S. Morris III, chairman and chief executive
officer of Morris Communications, parent company of the Sun.
Allen served as both managing
editor and executive editor of the Sun during her 11-year tenure
there from 1988 to 1999. For the past two years, she has been
general manager of the Log Cabin Democrat in Conway,
Ark.
"We are delighted to have Cindy
return to Pittsburg as publisher. She has an outstanding history
of dedication to that community and is committed to community
coverage and service," said Morris. "She has plans to take The
Morning Sun to an even higher level of news and advertising
quality."
Allen succeeds Tom Collinson,
who retired Jan. 1.
